Innovative activities at Hanoi Youth Congress reflect vibrant spirit

This is an important forum for the intelligence, emotions, and enthusiasm of Hanoi's youth to shine.

Under the theme "Hanoi Youth - Patriotism, Pioneering, Integration, Creativity, Reaching out", the congress has gathered nearly 400 delegates representing nearly three million young people in the city. In his opening speech, Nguyen Duc Tien, President of the Hanoi Youth Union in its 7th term, said that the congress was a great festival for the capital's youth.

In his opening speech, Nguyen Duc Tien, 7th term President of the Hanoi Youth Union, said that the congress was a great festival for the capital's youth.

"This is an important forum to showcase the intelligence, emotions, and enthusiasm of Hanoi's youth. The event aims to review the activities and youth movement during the seventh term, set goals, directions, and tasks for the 2024-2029 one, and elect members of the Youth Union for the next period," Tien said.

He added that the 400 official delegates attending the congress are "outstanding members and young people in many fields, with important contributions to youth movements as well as community development activities."

"By discussing the patriotic and volunteer youth of Hanoi, their contributions to the community, and global integration, the participants will examine the implementation of the resolution adopted at the 7th Congress and the 'I love my country' movement," he stressed.

At the plenary session on October 14, a dialogue between local youth and Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, was held under the theme "Youth Participation in Building a Green, Cultural, Civilized, and Modern Hanoi", focusing on three key themes, including "Green Hanoi", "Cultural Hanoi", and "Civilized and Modern Hanoi".

Dinh Cong Thanh, a Hanoi youth from Cau Giay district who attended the congress, told The Hanoi Times: "The discussions help me see youth proposals on digital citizenship, governance, and social development, promoting modern values and innovative responses to emerging challenges in the context of digital transformation and international integration."

"I am very happy to be able to make a small contribution to the work of environmental protection, the promotion of a clean and beautiful capital city, and the preservation of traditional values in order to better promote Hanoi's heritage locally and globally," said Thanh.

The congress features an exhibition with 43 stands displaying local and OCOP products, as well as technology exhibitions. It calls on all youth members to shoulder their responsibilities, strive to be proactive on all fronts, be creative in their studies and work, and contribute their strength to building the Party, the government, and a modern capital city.
