Four Vietnamese troupes and five others from Canada, Belarus, Laos, Cambodia, and Egypt will join the festival to promote international friendship between Vietnam and other countries and enable them to show their skills.

Tran Ly Ly, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “The festival is also a chance for Vietnamese artists to introduce Vietnamese circus to international friends.”

“Vietnamese arts managers and circus performers will be able to exchange ideas and experiences with international troupes, adopting new skills to meet the audience's demand.”

Ly added that the International Circus Festival 2022 takes place after the world and Vietnam, in particular, have recovered from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, highly appreciating Vietnamese and international troupes for their efforts to make it to the festival, which will draw the audience post-pandemic.

The performances include acrobatics, juggling, tightrope walking, and magic tricks that will amaze spectators.

Each repertoire will last from 7 minutes to 12 minutes. Besides the Hanoi Central Circus performances, artists will have a public show at the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian streets on December 3-4.

At the end of the festival, the winners will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals according to the score of their performances.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the International Circus Festival 2022 will air live on the network of prepaid service provider VTVCab. The performances will be broadcast after the festival ends.
