Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung said the festival brings a breath of fresh air to the 2016 Hue Festival and the locality’s tourism industry.
The two-day event is being attended by pilots and balloonists from 9 countries including Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, India, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.

During the first day of the event, Vietjet hot-air balloon with the dimensions of 25 meters high, 18 meters wide and flight distance of 5 km, maximum altitude of 150m performed flights serving visitors with panoramic view from altitude above the city of Hue.
The show takes place from 5:30 am to 8:00 am and from 17:00 pm to 18:30 pm with balloons taking off at Ham Nghi Yard in the Citadel and landing in separate locations in Phu My commune of Phu Vang district, Tu Ha ward of Huong Tra district and Huong Long ward of Hue city.
