Israeli Ambassador says farewell to Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee
On June 21, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hosted a reception for outgoing Israeli Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar.

Israel also recognized the full market economy of Vietnam, received more agricultural apprentices and increased scholarships for Vietnamese students. Both sides negotiated a free trade agreement, signed a memorandum of understanding on setting up a joint research fund, and increased cooperation in hi-tech agriculture and security-defence industry, thus turning Israel into one of the leading partners of Vietnam in the Middle East.
For her part, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Meirav Eilon Shahar said during the five years working in Vietnam, she exerted efforts to contribute to bilateral partnership in economics, trade, culture, science-technology, education, and security-defence. She affirmed her continued efforts to help boost the two countries’ relations after returning to her homeland.
Beside, Israeli Ambassador to Viet Nam Meirav Eilon Shahar also raised the issues, Vietnam and Israel can cooperate in the future, including the field of water resources management and enhancing the quality of human resources training.
Agreed with ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar ideas, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee said, Vietnam and Israel have great potential for stronger cooperation, specialy in science-technology, education, agriculture… Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung hope the ambassador will also have efforts and contributions to reinforcing bilateral multi-faceted ties, and asking her to continue to help further Vietnam - Israel relations in her new posts.
