IT infrastructure to be ready for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017
As of present, Information & Technology (IT) infrastructure for Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 in Da Nang has been completed to ensure smooth information exchanges and communication during this important event.

At present, VNPT has completed finalization and successfully tested all equipment and devices for the event, as well as stimulating scenarios when problems occurred and ways to solve these issues, not to mention contingency plans. VNPT also mobilize emergency staffs to be station at the event 24 hours a day at all locations to deal with emergency issues.
In particularly, at the APEC international media center, VNPT has provided communication infrastructure including high speed internet connection and HD television transmission from all locations back to the media center, ensuring the smooth transmission of high quality information and images for reporters in Vietnam and abroad. It is expected that more than 3,000 reporters not only from Vietnam, but also from other countries to join the APEC International media center to report on the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017, which will take place from November 6 – 11 in Da Nang, Vietnam.
APEC Vietnam 2017 is the year-long hosting of meetings in Vietnam, which will culminate with the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Da Nang to be hosted at InterContinental. It marks the second time Vietnam will be playing host to the APEC, having hosted the event previously in 2006. The People’s Committee of Da Nang, the host city of the Economic Leader's Meeting, has approved a project to upgrade major roads in the city. The project will cover 34 streets in the city which is estimated to cost around 243 billion VND or around US$10.9 million. The Da Nang International Airport is also scheduled to be completed by March 2017.
During the 4th National Committee for APEC 2017 in April 13, 2016 in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh directed ministries and agencies to coordinate with other APEC member states especially Peru and Papua New Guinea, the hosts of the 2016 and 2018 summits respectively
