Japanese businesses to increase investments in Vinh Phuc province

Japanese enterprises highlighted that Vinh Phuc province has many potentials for investment and business cooperation in various fields of agriculture, health, education and training, mechanical industry, electronic industry and telecommunication. This information was heard at a meeting in Vinh Phuc province on July 6.

People’s Committee of Vinh Phuc province in the northern key economic region, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam organised a seminar themed "Business performance of Japanese enterprises in Vinh Phuc province" on July 6.
The event was attended by representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), the Japan Business Association in Vietnam, and Japanese enterprises operating in Vinh Phuc.
During the seminar, the authorities of Vinh Phuc province pledged to create the best conditions for Japanese businesses in investing in the locality
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tri promised continued efforts to improve local investment climate, develop infrastructure and skilled manpower, and timely address the Japanese firms’ requests and administrative procedures.

Japanese firms have continually showed the best business performance in Vinh Phuc province.
Japanese firms have continually showed the best business performance in Vinh Phuc.
The province has benefited from the growth in overall Vietnamese – Japanese relations, particularly since 1995 when Japan’s Toyota and Honda groups began investing in the province, Chairman Tri noted.
The Chairman also highly appreciated the quality and effectiveness of Japanese investments which have significantly contributed to local socio-economic development.
As of late June 2016, Vinh Phuc houses 222 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 3.43 billion USD from 16 countries and territories. Though Japan only ranks third in terms of the project number (26) and registered capital value (over 786 million USD), its companies have continually showed the best business performance and contributed most to the province's budget.
The Chairman called for Japanese investors to pour their capitals into projects using modern technologies such as mechanical engineering (including automobile and motorcycle manufacturing and assembly), electronics and their support industries, telecommunications, and hi-tech agriculture.
Investors from Japan are also welcomed in tourism – entertainment, health care and education, according to the Chairman.
At the meeting, Japanese firms asked for more appropriate policies for importing used machinery with high quality and boosting auto manufacturing’s support industry.
Representatives also suggested that Vinh Phuc should remain investment incentives transparent and stable, as well as improve infrastructure at industrial parks.
