The Hanoitimes - Vietnam will be the first country in Southeast Asia to learn about Japan’s cutting-edge robot technologies and see a demonstration of lifelike androids being held in Hanoi on August 13.
The event will be hosted by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and FPT University.
Keynote speeches will be delivered by Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro from the School of Engineering Science in Osaka University and Nobuo Yamato, President and CEO of Vstone Co. Ltd.
Regarded as one of the world’s top 100 living geniuses, Ishiguro has devoted himself to researching and developing lifelike androids called “Geminoids” in order to explore what it means to be human.
Yamato, meanwhile, runs a robot production venture company Vstone Co., Ltd that utilises Ishiguro’s technology.
The Vstone Chairman is also a manager of Team Osaka, an industry-academia-government collaboration team which has recently won their 5th consecutive victory at the world championship of the internationally-acclaimed autonomous robot soccer project, Robocup.
Throughout the event, Vietnamese students will have the chance to gain valuable knowledge on artificial intelligence and software design for robots.
