Kinh te & Do thi (Economic & Urban) Newspaper's converged newsroom and digital ecosystem, launched today (October 17), is not only a technological breakthrough, but also a move to enhance content and provide a better experience for readers.

The converged newsroom works across multiple platforms for different genres of journalism, including print and digital publications, as well as those published on specialized online platforms using advanced technology.
It will streamline workflows, allowing reporters and editors to manage, edit and publish content for print, digital editions, specialized platforms and social media ecosystems (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Zalo) from a single interface and account. The system supports multiple languages, formats and customization options.
In essence, the converged newsroom combines all of a media organization's platforms, data, tools, and operational procedures to maximize content creation, boost organizational effectiveness, and reduce expenses and resources.
Journalists at Kinh te & Do thi can use this technology to produce long-form pieces, e-magazines, and megastories, incorporate AI into content creation, and improve SEO for increased search engine visibility. In addition to providing a variety of editing tools for images and article layout, it also manages an extensive collection of media assets, including documents, audio, video, and photos.
The ability to publish material to multiple platforms simultaneously is one of the key features of this newsroom. A single article can be shared on social media, published in print and distributed to digital channels using a unified content management system (CMS).
In addition, the platform provides detailed analytics on article views, average read time, and audience engagement across platforms (website and social media), including metrics such as shares, comments, and likes. It also tracks and reports on content publishing schedules and processes, integrating tools such as Google Analytics for performance evaluation.
The converged newsroom also incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) to summarize text, help edit content, and create audio, podcasts, or videos from written content, which would be useful for busy readers, the visually impaired, or those who prefer to listen to the news on the go.
Ha Minh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, described today's event as an important milestone for Kinh Te & Do Thi, a leading newspaper providing information on the capital's socio-economic landscape and urban management.

The launch of the converged newsroom platform and digital ecosystem underscores the newspaper's ongoing efforts in digital transformation and reflects its determination and creativity to deliver "creative thinking - smart solutions, decisive action - tangible results," he said.
This model will help Kinh te & Do thi "optimize the processes of content production, editing, and distribution to adapt to the public's news consumption habits in the digital era, and leverage existing resources to produce high-quality multimedia journalism," Hai said.
He also emphasized that the paper's digital ecosystem is a trailblazing move in the broader trend of modern journalism, expanding its ability to interact with readers while creating new value from big data and personalized content, ultimately enhancing the user experience.
In particular, the ecosystem opens opportunities for collaboration with domestic and international media organizations, introduces new and innovative business models in the media industry, and contributes to sustainable digital journalism and economic growth, Hai added.
"The city greatly appreciates Kinh te & Do thi's contributions to economic and social development, helping to build a more prosperous, civilized and modern capital," he said.
After nearly 26 years of development and a decade of The Hanoi Ttimes, the newspaper's English-language news site that serves as Hanoi's main foreign dissemination channel, Kinh te & Do Thi has steadily developed into a more professional and modern outlet, maintaining its position as one of the city's key media, a main channel for external communication with diverse global connections, he acknowledged.
"With a mission to introduce Hanoi to the world, The Hanoi Times has become a trusted source of timely and accurate information on major international events and the capital's economic and socio-cultural activities. The English-language online newspaper has played an important role in attracting international investors, tourists and foreign media to Hanoi, presenting the capital as a city of peace, dynamism, modernity and friendliness," he said.
“With the launch of the converged newsroom and digital ecosystem today, we can confidently expect Kinh te & Do thi to further solidify its position as one of the leading news agencies in Hanoi, equipped to meet the information demands of the digital era and continue making positive contributions to the capital’s development as a ‘Civilized-Modern-Prosperous’ city with globally connected citizens,” Vice Chairman Hai concluded.
For his part, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Thanh Loi emphasized the newspaper's commitment to modernizing its operations.
He noted that Kinh te & Do thi has invested heavily in infrastructure, added modern equipment, reformed journalistic practices, built a centralized content management system, and integrated AI to analyze user behavior and trends, improving content quality and expanding readership.
The converged newsroom platform and digital ecosystem is more than just an office redesign; it is a holistic approach to digital transformation, he said, adding that the system integrates various publishing and distribution channels and functions as an intelligent, flexible ecosystem that enables Kinh te & Do thi to maximize revenue in the digital age.
He emphasized that AI, data journalism and modern management tools not only streamline workflow, but also help produce high-quality journalism that meets the increasingly diverse and complex demands of readers.

"Our team is excited to officially launch this new interface and system, which reflects our commitment to innovation, smart solutions and pioneering spirit in modern journalism. This will help develop a stable and sustainable digital journalism economy and diversify revenue streams while improving the quality of public service," said Loi.
"There is still a long way to go, but with our youthful energy, enthusiasm, and responsibility, Kinh te & Do thi will continue to innovate and build a professional and modern newsroom worthy of being one of Hanoi's most important media outlets and a trusted companion for both domestic and international audiences," the Editor-in-chief added.
Digital transformation is a crucial and existential challenge for all media, especially local media companies, according to the representative of Haiphong Newspaper. Today's debut of Kinh te & Do thi's converged newsroom and digital ecosystem marks a significant technological advancement and reflects the drive and leadership of the editorial team, led by Editor-in-Chief Loi, with the help and support of the Hanoi Party and People's Committee, they said. This model is expected to mark a significant turning point in the development of the media, helping it to achieve excellence in the years to come.
