KOICA training course for Vietnamese journalists ends
Some 20 Vietnamese journalists and officials partook in the training course from September 13 to September 22.
A journalistic training course hosted by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Seoul concluded late this week (September 22).

The course is the second phase training course for 20 Vietnamese journalists to better implement Government policies.
After two weeks, Vietnamese officials at the Academy of Journalism & Communication, officials of the Central Propaganda and Education Committee, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and several local news publishers successfully graduated and obtained certificates from KOICA.
Nguyen Duc Toan, Vice Rector of the Academy of Journalism & Communication, said he is grateful for the support of the South Korean Government, KOICA and other organizations.
He also thanked the lecturers, including Professor Im Jong Seob, Professor Kim Byeong Hee, and Professor Yeji Kwon, for their devotion, energy and passion throughout the course.
The Academy of Journalism and Communication hopes that KOICA will provide further efficient support for the activities designed for the program's second phase.
The course was divided into six major topics, including big data journalism and big data government, the presence and future of the Korean smart media industry, national brand management through public media, and the development of personal promotion.
Learners also had to develop their action plans to implement Government policies. The activity accounted for a high proportion of the course duration.
Under Professor Ul-Sung Yi's guidance, Vietnamese trainees could develop an action plan for manpower development for the Academy of Journalism and Communication, improvement of manpower quality for Vietnam’s policy communication sector, and improvement of performance for Vietnamese press agencies.
As part of the course, Vietnamese journalists and officials visited the South Korean Journalism Foundation, which partnered with Vietnam’s Academy of Journalism and Communication in 2017-2019.
The Vietnamese delegates also had a field trip at several venues, such as the South Korean Advertisement Museum, the YTN Broadcasting Television, and the South Korean National Culture Museum, where they experienced Korea’s media production process and understood the people and culture of Korea.
