Vietnamese actress Lan Phuong has been nominated by Japan to become the ambassador of Okinoshima Island during her recent visit to Japan.
Phuong has recently visited Japan and worked with leaders from Fukuoka city.
After becoming JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Vietnam Office's Goodwill Supporter on June 1, 2015, she has participated in several events in Japan. During the visit, she was selected to become the ambassador of Okinoshima Island which is nominated as the world’s heritage.

During the journey, Phuong met senior officials of Fukuoka city and learnt about Okinoshima Island. She also called at Vietnam’s Consulate General in Japan.
On the occasion, actress Lan Phuong visited the famous Chinkokuji Temple in Munakata to learn more about the culture and Shinto religion of Japan.
