To celebrate the 39 th anniversary of Laos’ Liberation Day (December 2, 1975-2014), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos organized Laos Culture Week in Vietnam.
Laos Culture Week in Vietnam has been held from December 2 to 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, Hau Giang and Vinh Long.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Buangan Xaphuvong expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for immense assistance and collaboration in wartime as well as in the current national development.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai spoke of the further cooperation in culture and tourism between the two countries.
During the event, art performances and special activities of Laos’ national art troupe artists have been organised.
In addition to performances to reflect Lao people’s daily practices and traditional customs,the artists sang songs in Lao and Vietnamese languages to extol the late President Ho Chi Minh and the special ties between the two nations
Vietnamese people will have an opportunity to understand more about the traditional culture of Laos known as “Land of a Million Elephants” and express special friendship between the two countries Vietnam – Laos.
