Large project in Nghe An calls for US$8 billion investment

Nghe An central province has proposed the Government adjust a zoning plan on the south-eastern Nghe An Economic Zone (EZ), involving the Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC).

According to Nghe An’s proposal, the EZ will cover 19,586.4 ha, including large industrial, urban and service areas which will be built on 1.475 ha and is expect to attract 150 investors.

The project is expected to draw US$2 billion in industrial zone and US$5.857 billion in urban and service areas.

Becamex IDC asked local authorities to offer tariff incentives for both investors and employees in the EZ.

The Corporation has successfully developed industrial parks in other provinces like Binh Duong, Quang Ngai, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh.

At present, Nghe An’s EZ has 88 projects with a total registered investment of VND12,657 billion and US$79 million, primarily focusing on electronic, high technology, construction material and food processing industries.
