Latin America club to be launched soon in Hanoi

On Sep 7, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received outgoing Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz.

Paying respect for the warm welcome and positive support from Hanoi’s leader during the past time, Cuban Ambassador said, bilateral tie of Hanoi-Havana stepped on new levels via numerous diplomat delegation exchanges, cooperation activities in culture, commerce, economy. Especially, in medicine and pharmacy area, Cuba sent many groups of doctors as well as experts to support Hanoi, Vietnam in enhancing healthcare quality and building hospital.

Expressing the love to Hanoi – the capital, the Ambassador said, during the 4-year-tenure, he had tried his best to become the connecting bridge between Hanoi and Cuba cities’. In one recent effort, Cuba’s Embassy in Hanoi leads the innovative of forming a Latin America club. Many cultural activities will be held here, as a “playground” for Vietnamese people to understand more about Latin American friends, which play role as a background for further cooperation between Vietnam and Latin America countries.  The club would be launched soon at 12 Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Hanoi).

Appraising suggestions from the Ambassador, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee congratulated him for completing his mission in Vietnam as a key figure to promote Vietnam-Cuba tie, based on firming foundation built by  Vietnamese Former President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban Former President Fidel Castro. Highly appreciating Ambassador’s role in bilateral diplomatic achievement, Chairman Ngyen Duc Chung hoped, Herminio Lopez Diaz would continue to support Hanoi-Havana friendship regardless any position he in charge of.
As for Hanoi authority, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee affirmed they would uphold and facilitate all the activities which can promote Hanoi cooperation with Cuba cities’ .
