In the framework of the 2016 Vietnam International Tourism Mart (VITM), which will take place in Hanoi from April 14-17, the online tourism portal www.tripi.vn was officially launched on April 11.
This is the first website for the tourism sector where people can implement transactions on tours, hotels and air tickets.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the website, Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VTA) Vu The Binh said at present, 18 travel businesses have registered to join in the online transaction portal, with a commitment to fairly dividing their products for the two channels.
Binh also added that the Vietnam Tourism Association and its partners will continue to collect opinions of people and media to perfect the website becoming the Vietnam's online tourism portal.
The association also launched the Vietnam’s most attractive destinations in 2015 Award on the website www.tripi.vn in order to honour favourite outstanding places.
The results are based on votes by tourism journalists and the public on the website, and by the evaluation of professional board of the association.
The organising board will reveal the winners of the award at the opening ceremony of the VITM 2016 on April 13. The VITM 2016, themed “Vietnam – The paradise of sea and island tourism” will be organised in Hanoi from April 14-17.
During VITM 2016, participating businesses, including tour operators, hotel owners and airlines, can offer their promotion products on the website.
The event will be an opportunity for people to buy cheap tickets and attractive tours without queuing up at the mart. A total of 20,000 promotional air tickets and 15,000 tours will be provided at the event.
