The fifth Vietnam`s heritage photo contest, themed “Rivers of Vietnam”, was launched in HCM City on August 2 with the aims to popularise images of Vietnam to international friends.
The Vietnam's heritage photo contest is open to Vietnamese citizens and foreigners.
Entries can be single or sets of photos highlighting nature, tangible and non-tangible culture, and daily life, which should be sent to cuocthianhdisanvietnam@gmail.com.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Editor-in-chief of Vietnam Heritage magazine and head of the organising board Le Thanh Hai said the contest aims to popularise images of Vietnam to international friends and raise public awareness of maintaining and preserving the country’s cultural and natural heritages.
The board will present 100 photos to a community-based charity programme that builds flood-resistant houses in disadvantaged areas.
Mr.Hiroshi Yokota, CEO of Canon Marketing Vietnam company hoped that the event is always a creative inspiration and passion to Vietnamese young photographers.
"Through the Vietnam Heritage Photo Awards 2016, we increasingly want to encourage and nurture the photographic passion of Vietnamese community to save and share their beautiful life moments in many forms", he added.
The competition started in 2012 has attracted numerous professional and amateur photographers. In the last 4 years, the contest has received more than 17,000 entries from talented photographers across the country.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in November in HCM City.
The 100 best entries will be chosen for display from October until the end of the Lunar New Year festival at tourist attractions, museums and universities in HCM City, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hanoi.
The contest is a joint effort between the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam’s Vietnam Heritage magazine and Canon Marketing Vietnam company.
