Loan named as VN’s representative at Miss World beauty pageant

The website of Miss World 2014 pageant has posted the name of Miss Sea Nguyen Thi Loan as the Vietnamese representative who will appear in the beauty contest in December in London.

Nguyen Thi Loan's name has appeared on a list of candidates on the official website of Miss World 2014. However, Loan’s portrait and basic information has not yet been posted.

Loan told reporters that she wished to take part in the Miss World pageant but she has to wait for the approval of the Performing Arts Agency and Elite Vietnam, which has the right to choose the Vietnamese contestant for the Miss World pageant.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Nga, General Director of Elite Vietnam, said the official information "will be confirmed next week."
At the same time, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, from the Performing Arts Agency, said that this body had not received any application for Nguyen Thi Loan to go to the Miss World 2014 pageant.
He said under current regulations, Nguyen Thi Loan, the second runner-up of Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2013, is eligible to represent Vietnam at the pageant if she is invited by the organizers and recommended by Elite Vietnam.
In a recent interview, Loan said that she would attend an international beauty contest. The 24-year-old girl said that she was practicing English and doing exercise to prepare for the event.
Nguyen Thi Loan, born on 24/07/1990, used to be a volleyball player and studied at the Hanoi University of Trade.
She is 1.76 meters tall and weighs 58 kg, with body measurements of 90-63-93. She once won the Miss Sea title and was in the top five of the Miss Vietnam 2010 pageant. She also ranked third in the Miss Ethnic Vietnam beauty contest in 2013.
