The event, taking place every Saturday from March 20- April 10, is part of the overall efforts to promote a green, clean and beautiful Hanoi.
Kinh te & Do Thi (Economic & Urban) Newspaper in collaboration with Lang Ha district People’s Committee and Hanoi Urban Environment Company (Urenco) held the “Gifts for Recyclable waste” event, which has received positive responses from locals.

Locals are advised to sort waste for recycling, a key solution to protect the environment and address pollution issues. |
Recyclable waste is separated into three groups which are paper, plastic and metal. |
On March 20, locals bring their recyclable waste to the collection point at Economic & Urban Newspaper, located at 21 Huynh Thuc Khang, Dong Da district to exchange for gifts. |
Waste brought to the collection point are weighed, the amount would later be converted to points for being exchanged for gifts. |
“I bring my kid here to raise his awareness on environmental protection,” said Vu Hoai Nam from Hai Ba Trung district. |
During the event, locals are also instructed on measures to separate wastes and protect the environment. |
Locals can receive gifts based on their points. |
“I and my friends bring waste here to support the event,” said Vu Thi Sinh from Dong Da district, adding such event helps people better understand the importance of waste management. |

In the morning of March 20, the event receives a total of 200 kilograms of waste. |
