Louvre Musicians to perform Mozart's immortal music at Ho Guom Opera

The timeless compositions of Mozart's music will be performed by the French orchestra under the baton of Étienne Lemieux-Després, featuring singer Sofia Savenko.

The capital's audiences will be immersed in Mozart's musical universe when the French orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre performs Bei Momenti (Beautiful Moment) at the Ho Guom Opera on August 23 and 24.

Under the baton of conductor Étienne Lemieux-Després and with soprano Sofia Savenko, the French orchestra will perform immortal pieces by the musical genius Mozart, including the Serenade in G major: Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525.

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik was composed by Mozart in Vienna in 1787; at the same time, he was composing the opera Don Giovanni. The German title Eine kleine Nachtmusik was given by Mozart and means "a short evening song". Unlike Mozart's previous serenades, this one was written for a small chamber ensemble of two violins, viola, cello, and double bass. In modern renditions of this serenade, each element is often performed by a larger ensemble.

The program also includes music from the operas Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro.

A representative of the Ho Guom Opera also revealed that the program will describe the context of the arias excerpts with illustrations and subtitles so that the audience can enjoy the work more fully.

Unexpected aspects of the artistic experience are promised throughout the concert: in addition to musical appreciation, the senses will be stimulated and left with lasting feelings.

Composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was a great Austrian composer of the 18th century with the most profound contributions and influence on classical music. Mozart left mankind a vast musical treasure, including 628 works in many forms and genres, with his achievements considered the pinnacle of his compositions in instrumental music and opera.

His timeless works include The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte), Don Giovanni, The Wedding of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K 595 (Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K 595); Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K 543 (Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K. 543); Concerto No. 21 in C major, K 467.

Les Musiciens du Louvre was founded in Paris in 1982 by conductor Marc Minkowski. The orchestra has been very successful in reviving works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods on the instruments typical of each period.

Sofia Savenko is a German-Russian soprano who graduated from the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg in 2023. She has performed leading roles in many famous operas such as Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and many others.
