There have been many recent successes in cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam, particularly in the property sector in Hanoi.

He then shared with the Hanoi leaders Malaysia's strengths in the real estate and financial sectors, stressing that these two areas have room for further cooperation. On this basis, the Malaysian diplomat hoped that Malaysia's cooperation and investment in Hanoi would continue at a positive pace, with valuable support from the local government.

"Vietnam, in general, and Hanoi, in particular, have a lot of potentials that Malaysian banks are very interested in and have investment plans," he added.

He also welcomed the increasing number of flights between Malaysia and Hanoi and looked forward to more promotional activities to boost the flow of tourists, which is expected to reach 600,000 visitors by 2024, up from about 500,000 last year.

The ambassador also revealed that a delegation from the Chief Minister of the state of Penang will visit Hanoi in early October 2024.

For his part, Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh reiterated the city's facilitation of Malaysian companies' investment.

The Hanoi mayor also confirmed the city government's willingness to support the upcoming visit by Penang leaders.

On the occasion, Thanh invited the Malaysian ambassador and the embassy in Hanoi to participate in activities marking the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation, which is scheduled for October of this year.
