Many positive feedbacks on the image of promoting Hanoi on CNN

That is the assessment of the Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and CNN’s Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific region Sunita Rajan on implementation of the cooperation program signed between Hanoi and CNN channel on April 11.

The meeting saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy and leaders of the City's functional departments.

At the meeting, Sunita Rajan said, the results of the cooperation between CNN and Hanoi have been implemented in accordance with the plan, content and progress. CNN's audience around the world has had positive comments on this program; CNN's team of reporters, editors, and technicians are delighted to be introduced to Hanoi.

CNN is an American cable and satellite television channel available in more than 212 countries and territories. Working with the CNN to promote the images of Hanoi to international friends and help them learn about Vietnam is a right step, said Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung. 

During a reception for CNN’s Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific region Sunita Rajan, Chairman Chung praised the quality of videos about Hanoi broadcasted recently by CNN. Agreeing with Rajan’s proposal to add information on Hanoi’s website, Chung said that municipal authorities are focusing on producing more content on its website to promote gastronomy, intangible culture and other aspects of the city. He suggested CNN provide consultations for Hanoi to help the city perfect its website.

For her part, Rajan said CNN’s promotional videos broadcasted in March this year received a positive response from the audiences worldwide. More information about Hanoi’s tourism sites and information on cultural activities in the city should be added to the website, she said. Rajan hoped Hanoi will continue to work with CNN to in other fields to attract more investment to the city. 

Hanoi authorities and CNN recently reached a communication cooperation deal for 2017 and 2018, with the US channel agreeing to help Hanoi produce 30-second promotional videos, three and five minutes reports and a 30-minute programme. The campaign is expected to introduce Hanoi to millions of people across the globe.

According to Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, this shows that the promotion for Hanoi Capital's image is needed; at the same time, he desires that the content promoted on CNN on not only tourism, investment cooperation, but also the purpose of the audience around the world to know Hanoi Capital, the country and people of Vietnam. Therefore, the cooperation with CNN will last more than 2 years (as originally signed). Then, we continue to introduce investment promotion conference in June of 2017, said Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Agreeing with Sunita Rajan's proposal, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung suggested that CNN works together to help Hanoi building this website to spread the link, Hanoi will install electronic boards on the street for tourists, convenient reference, tourist sites, scenic spots, food, etc. in the Capital. The Chairman assigned the Department of Tourism and functional departments in coordination with CNN to implement the project.
