March 30: Vietnam’s coronavirus cases jump to 203, Bach Mai Hospital count hits 33

So far, 33 infected people are connected with Bach Mai Hospital, including two medical workers.

Fourteen out of 15 coronavirus cases confirmed on March 30 in Vietnam were connected with Bach Mai Hospital, bringing the country’s tally to 203.

The newly-detected people include a woman returning to the country from Greece, a man who went for checkup at Bach Mai Hospital and 13 workers of Truong Sinh Company that provide catering services for the hospital.

The latest cases drive up the number of infections who are linked to Bach Mai Hospital to 33, including two medical workers, statistics by the Ministry of Health showed.

On the same day, the ministry announced 39 (infected with the virus from March 6) totally tested negative for the virus. They include Patients No.17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 27, 33, 35, 39, 46, 47, 51, 53, 55, 56, 58, 59, 60, 62, 64, 66, 69, 70, 71, 75, 77, 79, 85, 88, 89, 90, 93, 110, 112, 113, 130, 140, and 187. Patient No.17 was the first case confirmed in Hanoi, marking the start of the second phase of the battle against the virus in Vietnam.

Before, 16 people (infected with the virus between January 23 and February 13) had recovered and were discharged from hospital.

So far, as many as 55 people have recovered from Covid-19 in Vietnam and no death has been reported.

Currently, 148 active cases are under treatment at 22 medical stations across the country. Four medical workers, including two doctors, are in stable conditions.

Among more than 22 localities where the virus has been found, Hanoi takes the lead with 88 cases, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with 48 and Vinh Phuc with 11 (all cured).
