The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Official Letter No. 2008/UBND-KGVX on launching Micronutrient Day 2018 in the City.
Under the Official Letter, Hanoi Department of Health will cooperate with departments, sectors, agencies and collectives to make a plan on launching Micronutrient Day in 2018 in accordance with guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Nutrition.
At the mean time ensuring enough vitamin A capsules for children; allocate funds, materials and human resources to launch the Micronutrient Day; check and supervise the implementation of Micronutrient Day in districts and towns.
Relating to the above mission, the Department of Information and Communications is in charge of directing press agencies and radio systems to strengthen the popularization of the campaign “Micronutrient Day” to raise people’s awareness and apply various measures for prevention of micronutrient deficiencies.
The Department of Finance will allocate funds for the campaign as stipulated by law. Meanwhile, relevant departments, sectors and agencies will proactively cooperate with the Department of Health to check the implementation of the campaign.
People’s Committees of districts and towns are responsible for making their own plans on launching the campaign in areas; monitoring the deployment of the campaign in communes, wards and towns; strengthening the popularization to encourage people to make reasonable diets and diversify daily meals, use iodized salt so as to proactively prevent malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies; arranging funds for activities during the campaign in districts, towns; asking communes, wards and towns to give financial assistance to launch the Micronutrient Day in the City.
The Hanoi People’s Committee asked the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter and collectives to enhance communication to encourage local people to positively respond to the campaign; participate in inspection teams to check the deployment of the campaign in districts, suburban districts and towns.
