Minh, Trang represent Vietnam at Australian Open

Vietnam International Challenge winners Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will represent Vietnam at the Xiamenair Australian Badminton Open which starts on June 7 in Sydney.

Un-seeded Minh will play Takuma Ueda from Japan who came through the qualifying rounds in the first round of the men’s singles event on June 8.
The event features world No 1 Chen Long of China and No 2 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

On the women’s side, Trang will play Xiaoyu Liang of Singapore in the women’s singles match.
The title favourites of the event are world No 2 Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and No 4 Li Xuerui of China. 
The 2016 XIAMENAIR Australian Badminton Open Superseries will offer one of the most lucrative sporting prize pools in Australia, with 736,000 USD up for grabs. It also gives athletes one of the last opportunities to earn world ranking points needed to compete and improve their seeding at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. The finals are on June 12.
