Music night to foster Vietnam-Japan Friendship

The 24th Japanese Garage Concert is a celebration of the 51st anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations in 2024.

The music concert titled “Ghibli Music Night” by Hanoi Ensemble & Friends will start at 8 p.m. on March 15 at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, No.27 Quang Trung Street, Hanoi.

According to the organizer, the concert night will feature a variety of music taken from famous Japanese animated fantasy films, including The Village In May and Mother from the anime My Neighbor Toroto; Reminiscence and Take Me Home, Country Roads from Whisper of the Heart; On A Clear Day from Kiki's Delivery Service, and others.

The Hanoi Ensemble is composed of young artists and teachers from the Vietnam National Academy of Music who have been educated in Vietnam and several renowned conservatories abroad. The members of the Hanoi Ensemble have won several prestigious national and international music awards. They have participated and performed regularly in many concerts, music festivals, and cultural exchange programs in Vietnam and abroad.

Admission to the program is free. Pre-registration is required at https://bit.ly/GhibliMusicNight (opens at 11:30 a.m. on March 7).

Concert audiences are also invited to experience to he or Vietnamese toy figurine making class and attend a lecture on to he by Vietnamese meritorious artist - artisan Dang Van Khang. Priority will be given to children and their families.

The Japanese Garage Concert is a series of performances in the garage and courtyard of the Japan Foundation Center, with the hope of bringing musical diversity to Hanoi by introducing Japanese music performed by renowned musicians.

The concert aims to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations in 2024.
