The conference aims to deepen and clarify scientific arguments and historical documents related to the event of the capital's takeover and liberation, as well as the 70-year process of Hanoi's construction and development. This will affirm the historical value and draw lessons learned while proposing directions and visions for building and developing a cultured, civilized, modern capital and a globally connected city.

Additionally, the event will contribute to promoting revolutionary traditions and reinforcing the faith of officials, party members, and the public in the leadership of the city's Party Committee and government during this period of accelerated integration and development. It will also demonstrate the close coordination between central authorities and Hanoi in carrying out tasks for the capital's development.

The conference will convene on October 2, 2024, at the National Convention Center, with the theme: "New Vision, New Opportunities to Build Hanoi: Cultured, Civilized, Modern Capital, a Globally Connected City."

The conference is expected to focus on topics such as an overview of the capital, summarizing the role, position, and mission of Hanoi for the nation; 70 years since the capital's liberation, its achievements, and key lessons learned; and new visions and opportunities to develop a cultured, civilized, modern capital and a globally connected city.

The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Institute for Socio-Economic Development Studies of Hanoi to carry out the assigned tasks, serve as the focal point for coordinating with other units to organize the conference and compile and publish the proceedings after the event.

The National Scientific Conference is one of the important and practical activities of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
