Nearly 1,000 overseas Vietnamese to attend Homeland Spring 2025

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that the significant homecoming celebration will feature distinguished representatives.

The Homeland Spring 2025 program will be held in Hanoi from January 18 to 20, 2025 under the theme "Vietnam - Rising in the New Era."

Highlights of the event include the presence of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and the First Lady in several meaningful activities, such as the traditional incense offering ceremony at Kinh Thien Palace, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the traditional carp release ceremony during the Kitchen Gods Day celebration.

A special art performance will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television from the National Convention Center in Hanoi on January 19. During the event, President Cuong will deliver New Year's greetings and beat the drum to inaugurate the spring festival. About 1,500 overseas Vietnamese delegates, their relatives, and guests from both home and abroad are expected to attend the program.

The 100 distinguished overseas Vietnamese representatives will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, lay wreaths at the Monument to Martyrs, and meet with Party and State leaders, among other activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In particular, Hanoi city leaders will host a reception for them on the evening of January 19, 2025.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that this year's program features several innovations, including the venue change from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and expanded local connection activities in Hung Yen province.

The Homeland Spring 2025 not only serves as an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese families to reunite but also strengthens the bonds between Vietnamese expatriates and their homeland, demonstrating the Party and State's commitment to caring for the Vietnamese community abroad. The program promotes patriotism, cultural preservation, and connection with ancestral roots among overseas Vietnamese.
