The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Nguyen Van Binh, has approved a list of commercial banks and customers joining a pilot-lending program to serve agricultural development.

Accordingly, 19 projects in 16 provinces and cities with an expected lending capital of more than VND1.92 trillion were approved for the program under the Government’s Resolution 14 on lending programs for the development of a unified agricultural value chain.

Earlier, in May 2014, the first four businesses in the southern provinces of An Giang were lent VND350 billion from the commercial banks. In July 2014, an additional six businesses in five provinces and cities received loansl worth more than VND2.37 trillion to implement projects on hi-tech agricultural development and value chain production.
