The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Swiss Economic Cooperation and Development Division (SECO) on June 13 in Ha Noi launched a program to improve export competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The program will support trade and export promotion and raise SMEs’ contribution to the country’s export turnover by improving their access to trade promotion services at regional and lower levels.
Accordingly, local commercial centers, trade promotions agencies and local-level goods industry associations will receive technical aid to enhance their capacity in trade promotion.
The program will assist the formulation of a national export council to strengthen competence of Government officials in overseeing and assessing the implementation of the national export strategy.
Firstly, the program will focus on handicraft, fruit and vegetable industries to spur exports.
