Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Site will be temporarily closed from July 9th for landscape maintenance.

The temporary suspension was announced today, July 9, by the local tourism department.

Accordingly, this predetermined closure aims to carry out activities to restore the landscape, preserve the heritage value of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, and retrain local people's tourism skills, including the boatmen of the tourist attraction.

Located about 90 kilometers from Hanoi's downtown, the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area is part of the Trang An Tourism Complex and one of Vietnam's most spectacular tourist destinations. It is considered "Ha Long Bay on land", attracting hundreds of thousands of local and international tourists annually.

Ngo Dong River is the highlight of the tourist area, where travelers always choose to boat along the gentle water stream through gorgeous limestone mountains while admiring the golden rice fields on both sides.

In 2014, UNESCO officially recognized the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex as a World Heritage Site. Covering an area of nearly 2,000 hectares, the complex consists of three contiguous sites: Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel, Trang An-Tam Coc-Bich Dong Natural Scenic Site, and Hoa Lu Primeval Forest.

Some other famous tourist attractions include Mua (Dance) Cave, Dong Tien (Fairy Grotto) Cave, and Van Long Lagoon.

According to statistics from the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, in the first six months of 2023, the number of visitors to attractions in Ninh Binh Province was estimated at over 4.5 million, double that of the same period last year, of which there were about 200,000 foreign visitors.
