Number of foreign arrivals in Hanoi gain nearly 1.4 million in the first five months
According to Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of foreign arrivals in the capital rose by 5%, reaching nearly 1.4 million in the first five months of this year.
Domestic arrivals attained 6.7 million, up a 2% compared to the same period last year.
In early May, the department submitted a report to the city authorities about the progress of a project turning Ba Vi – Suoi Hai area into a national tourism park by 2020.
The department also implemented several activities to promote the world’s intangible cultural heritage Giong festival abroad while offering tourism training to communities in the two outlying districts of Soc Son and Gia Lam where the festival takes place.
The department is working on a Hanoi tourist product development strategy for 2016-2020 period.
