The annual Huong Pagoda Festival, the longest-such event in Vietnam, kicked off on February 13 (the sixth day of the Lunar New Year).
The organising board said that the preparations for the opening ceremony has been completed, ready to welcome millions of tourists nationwide attending this year’s festival.
A representative from management board of Huong Son relic and scenic said on February 12 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year), during this year’s festival, the number of tourists flocking to the Huong pagoda is estimated to rise sharply in the comparison to last year.
As of February 12, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, as many as 150,000 visitors came to the Huong pagoda. Specially, on February 12, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, the pagoda welcomed more than 60,000 tourists.
The board mobilised nearly 5,000 boats participating to provide services for visitors during the festival.
Authorities of My Duc district in collaboration with relevant agencies tried their efforts in providing free wifi service in order to create the most favourable conditions for visitors to attend the festival.
According to Vice Chairman of My Duc district’s People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hau, the organising board has set up plans to ensure traffic safety, social security and food safety during this year's festival.
According to organizers, the safety for the festival will be guaranteed.
My Duc district’s People's Committee and organisers announced the fare of Huong Pagoda Festival on the website address of lehoichuahuong.vn and publicly posted at the doors and gate of the vestige. This year, the fare remains the same compared to 2015.
The festival runs through the third lunar month.
