The Vietnam Journalists Association in collaboration with the Central Board of Science and Education, Ministry of Information and Communications and Hanoi People`s Committee opened the largest ever annual Spring Press Festival at the Giang Vo Exhibition Centre on February 7.

The festival has been timed to coincide with the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3), the 125th birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), and the 40th anniversary of southern liberation and national unification.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Thuan Huu said some 120 booths displaying publications for the Spring festival and Lunar New Year, published by 65 central and local press agencies nationwide highlight the achievements that the Party, people and army reported last year, as well as plans and goals for the nation's development.

The festival provides a good chance to introduce technological advancements in press and communications and a forum for journalists across the country to exchange professional experience.
Besides, this year’s four-day event features workshops, exchanges with the public, and cultural and art performances.
