The fifth Vietnamese Cultural Festival in the Republic of Korea was held in Gwangmyong city in the province of Gyeonggi on September 1.
The event is part of key activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) and 23 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the RoK.
The festival was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, the Association of Vietnamese in the RoK, Kumho Tire and the airliner Vietjet Air.
The Vietnam’s Military Music and Dance Theatre hosted many meticulously-staged art performances, profoundly affecting audiences.The highlight of the event was the introduction of the fund for Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty and the “The Vietnamese elegance in the RoK’ contest, the first of its kind.
According to the organising board, the fund will mobilise contributions from Vietnamese nationals in the RoK and from around the world to help present gifts to children of officials and soldiers who are on duty at Truong Sa islands and the DK platform.
