On September 20, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and VNPT Media Corporation (VNPT – Media) under VNPT corporation has signed agreement providing e-payment service to customers.


Cash collection BIDV-VNPT Pay: allowing customers to deposit money to pay for goods purchasing and services provided by VNPT and others in cooperation with VNPT through the diversified payment channels of BIDV (including 1,000 transaction counters of BIDV across the country, authorized automatic payment, BIDV ATM, internet banking and mobile banking).
Online payment portal BIDV – VNPT Pay: allowing customers to deposit money, paying for goods and services provided by VNPT and other providers in cooperating with VNPT through payment channels developed by VNPT – Media.
E-wallet service BIDV – VNPT Pay: a payment service under the form of electronic account, with an aim to support customers in cash deposit/ withdraw into the e-wallet and use the balance for shopping, and paying all kinds of bill.
BIDV and VNPT media offers the above-mentioned services based on the advantages of having a large customer database of both side, including 30 million customers of VNPT and approx. 8 million customers of BIDV; the large network of BIDV; high quality technical staffs of both companies ensure the services to be updated with modern technologies, in turn provides the best possible experience for customers, with customer services of BIDV and VNPT Media being dedicated and assisting customers for 24 hours in 7 days a week.
BIDV and VNPT Media plan to cooperate in offering services such as cash collection and online payment portal for all kinds of bill (hospital, public services, social insurance, health insurance). The cooperation of BIDV and VNPT Pay has opened a new way of payment, convenient, comfortable and efficient for modern customers, which bring economic efficiency for the development of the country. The proposal of non-cash payment development in Vietnam for period 2016 – 2020 has been approved by the Prime Minister, in which 70% enterprises providing water, electronics, telecom and media will accept payment from households and individuals through non-cash payment and 50% individuals, households in major cities will use non-cash payment in shopping and consumption.
In recent years, VNPT – Media has been assigned by VNPT corporation to develop online payment system. This is seen as one of the four missions contributing to the development of VNPT corporation in the future. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice General Director of BIDV Le Ngoc Lam said “The successful connection between VNPT Media and BIDV is an important milestone to support VNPT – Media implementing the non-cash payment system, which is a potential market in the future”.
With this signing, General Director of VNPT – Media Ngo Dien Hy said “BIDV’s customer can easily access and pay for services provided by VNPT, and in other way around, customers of VNPT can easily use and pay for services through BIDV’s accounts”.
