Owner of IPhone X in Vietnam reported green line display issue

It is worth mentioning that this issue also occurred in some Samsung’s smartphone previous models, such as the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 edge, which is ruining user experience.

After IPhone X was released one week ago, the Apple’s flagship product is still showing its strong attraction to Apple’s fans all over the world, especially when the supply and price are more stable. As such, IPhone X has not had many issues reported in these first few days. While some users complained about the issue of product could not be actived, others got some problems with the keyboard. However, most of these issues are minor and related to the softwares, which can be solved through update patches in the future.

However, recently, some IPhone X in Vietnam are reporting the presence of a vertical green line that showed up on the phones’ displays. As such, the Iphone X with this mentioned problem was purchased right in the launching date, and this vertical green line appeard only after two days of use. The unfortunate customer has contacted the Apple shop and was exchanged with a new Iphone X. This issue will cause Apple major headaches if it is a hardware related problem, which is in the OLED screen itself.

With this being said, the only solution when facing this problem would be to replace the OLED screen as it is unrepairable. The cost for replacing this screen especiallly on expensive flagship models such as IPhone X is expected to be very high. Previously, Apple confirmed that the cost for repairing/replacing OLED on their flagship products are at least 279 USD (equivalent to 6.3 million VND), and up to 549 USD (equivalent to 12.5 million USD) if there are more issues related to the OLED screen.

Apple's 10th-anniversary smartphone went on sale across the globe on 3 November, with thousands of customers queueing to get their hands on the anticipated product. The iPhone X (pronounced iPhone 10) is the company's first smartphone to feature a full-screen display, as it sets its sights on the likes of the Galaxy Note 8. There's also an all-new 'Super Retina' resolution, a reinforced glass design and support for wireless charging, with the iPhone X arriving with support for the Qi charging standard.

iPhone X officially hit the market on November 3 with the retail price of $999 for 64GB version. However, Vietnamese users cannot buy genuine iPhone X from Apple Authorized Resellers at this moment. They can only buy iPhone X from private shops which are carried to Vietnam via different ways. The private shops began taking orders many days ago. Vietnamese dealers will fly to regional countries, especially Singapore, and buy iPhone X from authorized resellers there, and then carry products to Vietnam to sell for profit. In Singapore, the 64GB version has the selling price of 1,648 SGD, or VND27.5 million, while the 256GB is sold at 1,888 SGD, or VND31.5 million. In Hong Kong, the prices are higher. A 64GB iPhone X is priced at 17,700 HKD, or VND51 million, while a 256GB is 22,200 HKD, or VND64.6 million. In Vietnam, private shops have different retail price levels. The 30-40 million price levels have been set for 64GB and VND35-50 million for 256GB versions in Vietnam. The same price has been set for Space Grey and Silver.
