The US requests before March, 2016, Vietnam must provide a list of business establishments wishing to continue exporting catfish, basa fish to the US market, as well as documents that are compliant with import regulations FDA's current import.
In the first ten months, Viet Nam’s biggest pangasius importers - the U.S. and the EU which account for 38.8% of market share - continued to decrease their orders. Pangasius export to the U.S. valued US$260 million, down 4.6% and to the EU nearly US$246 million, down 15%.
In addition, the ministry will also provide information about the legal system, the State management of food safety in the production and processing catfish and basa fish of Vietnam as requested by the US side.
