People returning to Hanoi after holiday must make medical declaration

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee urged to stiffen enforcement of measures against Covid-19 as thousands of people will return to Hanoi after the four-day-long holidays on the occasion Reunification Day and May Day.

In an urgent dispatch signed on May 2, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh urged heads of districts and towns in Hanoi to tighten Covid-19 pandemic control and prevention as the second longest holiday in Vietnam will be ended in two days.

He asked subordinate levels in the city to make highest efforts and continue to strictly follow the instructions of the Government on containing the spread of Covid-19.

Accordingly, all residents who returns to the city after the holiday are required to make medical declaration on the website tokhaiyte.vn or through a QR Code or report directly to the local administration about their health and travel itineraries.

People showing the symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath or other suspected signs of Covid-19 should immediately go to the nearest medical facility or health stations at the commune, ward or town for timely guidance and health check.

Heads of city’s agencies and schools in the city are responsible for the medical declarations of officials, servants, employees, workers, students, pupils, among others. Meanwhile, local authorities are responsible for the medical declaration of the people living under their jurisdiction.

The Hanoi Police is responsible to instruct local police agents, in co-operation with “Covid-19 pandemic control groups in community”, to build up a list of people who spend holidays outside the capital, in order to monitor, manage, and guide them on measures against Covid-19. They will also have right to strictly punish organizations and individuals who do not make or make untruthful medical declarations.
