PM Nguyen Tan Dung is chairing an online Government regular meeting on June 29 with all the localities to evaluate socio-economic performance in June and in the first half of this year as well as propose measures and tasks in the future.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) will make a report on the socio-economic performance in June and in the first half of 2015, the implementation of Resolution No. 10/NQ-CP on major tasks and solutions for improving the business environment and national competitiveness.According to the report presented by Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, the economy recovered and gained achievements over the past six months of the year.
The macro-economy stabilized; the Consumer Price Index (CPI) slightly increased; GDP in the second quarter rose higher than that the first one; GDP in the first half witnessed the highest growth in the recent five years with 6.28%.
Over the past six months of the year, the nation gained achievements in promoting economic sectors such as the processing and manufacturing industries, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) disbursement, exports, and in ensuring social security and order.
However, the report referred to difficulties and challenges facing the economy, including low growth rate in the agricultural and aquatic sectors, a slowdown in export turnover and a high proportion of poor households.
The Ministry of Home Affairs will present a report on administrative procedure reform in the second quarter of the year.
Leaders from localities and ministers will discuss and make proposals before PM Nguyen Tan Dung comes up with conclusion.
