On September 12, Hanoi People’s Committee and Ministry of Transport has a meeting to evaluate the cooperation between two sides in state management, transport infrastructure development, ensuring public order and traffic safety in Hanoi.
Participating in the meeting are the Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Ministry of Transport Truong Quang Nghia, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha, along with others Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee and leaders of Ministry of Transport.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committe Nguyen The Hung has briefed on the result of implementing the master plan of Hanoi transport, as well as the arrangement of inter-provincial bus routes in Hanoi. As such, measures have been carried out, which are based on agreement between leaders of Hanoi city and the Ministry of Transport concluded at the meeting dated March 7, 2016 with regard to state management, transport infrastructure development, public order and traffic safety in Hanoi.
In particular, some aspects have positive results, in which includes the master plan of Hanoi transport until 2030, with vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister. Hanoi has completed and commenced transport infrastructure projects with an aim to reduce traffic congestion. Moreover, the city also cooperate closely with the Ministry of Transport in implementing projects invested by the Ministry, such as: Ring road No.3 construction project Mai Dich – South Thang Long section, Viet Tri bridge connecting Ba Vi with national highway No. 32 and national highway No. 32C; Highway Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh; urban railway No.1 and No.2A, road expansion project section Phap Van – Cau Gie. In the list of 8 urgent transport projects approved by the government, in which the city carries out 7 projects and the Ministry of Transport carries out 1 project. At present, Hanoi has completed 2 out of 7 projects (the bypass bridge O Dong Mac – Nguyen Khoai and the bypass bridge Co Linh).
At the same time, Hanoi has also commenced the lower ring road No.3 section Mai Dich – Thang Long bridge, whic is expected to be completed in 2018. 2 projects: bypass bridge An Duong and bypass bridge Pham Ngoc Thach – Chua Boc have been approved and expected to be commenced soon.
Vice Chairman Nguyen The Hung said, one of the most important success during the cooperation between Hanoi and Ministry of Transport is the effective arrangement of inter-provincial bus routes in accordance with the master plan of inter-provincial bus routes approved by the Ministry of Transport, in turn contributes to reduce traffic congestion in the city center.
Moreover, Hanoi has cooperated with the Ministry of Transport in carrying out consistently solutions in management, maintainance, flexible and frequent traffic organization. Many positive results have been obtained from solutions to reduce traffic congestion and accidents, especially in holidays and festivals recently, as well as in important political events. At present, Hanoi has solved 6 out of 41 traffic congestion areas in 2017.
Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the project “Improve road vehicle management to reduce traffic congestion and environmental pollution period 2017-2020 with vision to 2030” as a foundation to implement consistently solutions and policies for the reduction of traffic congestion in the city.
