Press makes an important contribution to national achievements

The press made an important contribution to the success of the 12th National Party Congress as well as many the country`s important events in 2015, Permanent Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Dinh The Huynh stressed at a conference with media agencies in Hanoi on February 16.

The Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission organised a conference with media agencies in Hanoi on February 16, which is an annual event on the occasion of the Lunar New Year festival. 
The conference was attended by Permanent Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Dinh The Huynh, newly-appointed Head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam Journalists Association and heads of media agencies and newspapers.

Addressing the event, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission Vo Van Thuong affirmed that the country gained great achievements in 2015, especially the success of the 12th National Party Congress and the press plays a crucial role in implementing the country’s political tasks.
Thuong called for further reform in media agencies, and higher quality in communication work, proposing that the agencies should promote their political and social responsibility and the professional ethics of journalism. 
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam thanked all media workers across the country and affirmed that they significantly contributed to the national socio-economic development. 
In 2015, media agencies met set requirements, especially in covering the country’s important events, showing the trust of people from all walks of life in the Party and the national reform process.
