Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Mr. Philipp Rosler, executive director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) who are working and attending the workshop "The role of businesses on enhancing national competitiveness in international integration".
The forum has been held by Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam, WEF held in Hanoi on November 28.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Mr. Philipp Rosler back to visit Vietnam and attend a workshop on national competitiveness, a content Vietnam and WEF are both very interested. Appreciating the effective cooperation between Vietnam and WEF, the Prime Minister proposed that WEF closely coordinate with Vietnam to assess national competitiveness annually, is indicated by the term institutional weaknesses, causes and direction, the solution to fix and enhance national competitiveness of Vietnam.
General Director Philipp Rosler WEF said Vietnam's economy with the results and potential future development, especially in relation to formation of an ASEAN Community by the end of 2015, the pioneering role of Vietnam in building and formation of an ASEAN Community is the center of attention of investors, global business. Therefore, the ideas, views and information about Vietnam and ASEAN, the message of Vietnam's leaders are being international business community concerned. With that sense, this time in Davos, WEF will focus on organizing major events in Vietnam, in which event "Night of Vietnam" with the participation of many politicians and leading business .
On the issue of national competitiveness, Mr. Philipp Rosler said this is a global problem and all countries concerned, therefore, WEF will coordinate and support Vietnam in the evaluation and enhancement competitiveness of their country. Mr. Philipp Rosler said WEF also willing to support and participate in the events and important economic forum in Vietnam and the region to be held in the coming years.
