Prime Minister praises music video Bac Bling at youth meeting

Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has complimented the music video "Bac Bling" by singer Hoa Minzy, highlighting the MV’s role in promoting and renewing Vietnamese cultural heritage.

THE HANOI TIMES — Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the music video at a meeting on March 24 with over 300 outstanding youth delegates representing more than 20 million young people across the country.

Among those recognized were prominent figures from various fields, including singers Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Erik, and actress Bao Thanh, who have significantly influenced youth culture in Vietnam.

During the meeting, Chinh said that Vietnam's youth play a vital role in driving innovation, technological advancement, and digital transformation. In particular, he praised young artists for seamlessly blending traditional folk music with contemporary sounds, a trend that has captivated audiences and achieved record audience ratings.

The newly released "Bac Bling" by Hoa Minzy stood out as an exemplary fusion of traditional and modern elements, earning accolades at home and abroad.

The prime minister hailed Bac Bling as an inspiration for those preserving the nation's cultural roots. "This work has renewed and revitalized the spirit of national pride," he said, emphasizing its impact on promoting Vietnamese cultural identity.

Shortly after the meeting, Hoa Minzy shared a post on her personal page recalling the moment she shook the prime minsiter's hands. She expressed her gratitude and joy after receiving his praise, which she described as a deeply moving experience. "His kind words inspire me to continue to strive in my career and in my mission to share Vietnamese culture with the world," she wrote.

The success of Bac Bling is nothing short of remarkable. Just three weeks after its release, the MV has garnered over 85 million views, driven by its catchy melody and perfect blend of contemporary pop and traditional folk music.

The MV has become one of the most talked about topics in the Vietnamese music scene in 2025. The MV's ability to foster a closer bond with Vietnam's cultural heritage is evidenced by the numerous social media posts from viewers from different parts of the country about how the MV has made them fall in love with the country and its people in Kinh Bac, northern Vietnam.

The "Bac Bling" MV has also sparked a viral trend on TikTok, with many stars and influencers sharing their own covers of the song, further increasing its reach. The song's catchy melodies and its depiction of Bac Ninh's rich cultural heritage have made it a cultural phenomenon, especially among young people.
