Program seeks future policy leaders in Vietnam
The program will help successful applicants develop their skills, expand their networks and, ultimately, make a difference through policy change.
Applications are now open for “Future Leaders Connect”, a six-week online global policy and leadership program, to seeks future policy leaders in Vietnam.
Run by the British Council, the program “Future Leaders Connect” will give young policy leaders aged 25-35 from Vietnam the opportunity to learn from experts and practitioners.
Moreover, they can discuss their policy ideas with UK Parliamentarians and network with some of the world’s most senior leaders.

In partnership with the internationally respected Moller Institute under the University of Cambridge, “Future Leaders Connect” will help successful applicants develop their skills, expand their networks and, ultimately, make a difference through policy change.
Participants from Vietnam will be joined by emerging leaders from around the world, including Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Ukraine, and the UK, in a prestigious global network of next generation policymakers.
“Future Leaders Connect” alumni have already achieved impact through policy change - in civil society, enterprise, and government - across 13 countries all over the world.
“A major reason I applied for Future Leaders Connect was its focus on policy and how to use policy as a catalyst for change. I also wanted to learn from other regions and countries and understand how I could integrate their approaches into my own work,” said Matthew O’Neill from Northern Ireland, who took part in the program in 2019.
“I would say to prospective applicants, don’t let this year’s program being online put you off. I would do it all over again - the value is in the people you meet and the global long-term network you join,” he added.
Chief Executive of British Council Kate Ewart-Biggs OBE said that “Future Leaders Connect” is central to the British Council’s purpose of building understanding and trust.
“This year we will connect the world’s emerging leaders digitally, bringing together exceptional young people from across the UK and around the world to learn from recognized experts and practitioners,” Kate Ewart-Biggs said.
She added that it will be a fantastic experience in shared learning, which gives tomorrow’s leaders a global outlook as they face new challenges.
The program will take place online from October 11 to November 19. Applicants must be able to explain their unique policy objectives and show they have what it takes to be a global policy leader.
The deadline to apply is July 28.
