Quang Binh singer releases music video in tribute of Hanoi musician

Singer Thi Phuong pays tribute to Hanoi-born musician Hoang Van with a new music video to promote tourism in Quang Binh province.

Singer Thi Phuong has released the music video (MV) Quang Binh Que Ta Oi (Quang Binh, My Hometown) to promote the image of her homeland on the occasion of the 420th anniversary of the founding of the central province of Quang Binh (1604-2024).
Thi Phuong launched this music video in Hanoi, the hometown of the song's composer Hoang Van, to mark the 60th anniversary of the song's first release.

Hoang Van (1930-2018) was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize in 2000. He fought in the battle of Dien Bien Phu before being sent to China to study music.

Singer Thi Phuong is featured in her music video dedicated to Quang Binh Province.

After returning to Vietnam, he was the conductor of the orchestra of Radio Voice of Vietnam and a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music until 1989. He's known for many songs written for singers, symphony orchestras, choirs, instrumental ensembles, films, and plays.

Quang Binh Que Ta Oi has long been considered the "theme song" of Quang Binh Province. The song's first verse has become the musical identity of Quang Binh Voice Radio every morning.

In the music production, Thi Phuong is like a tour guide who takes the audience to the famous historical sites of her homeland.

Although she was born in Quang Binh, Thi Phuong only had the opportunity to visit many beautiful landscapes and historical sites she had never seen before while filming this MV throughout the province.

After this MV, Thi Phuong plans to complete an album about her homeland with singer Viet Danh from the Military Music and Dance Theater, and she will release three songs about the central province of Nghe An.

Doan Ngoc Lam, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee, said he's impressed by Thi Phuong's efforts to promote the homeland through music.

"The song of musician Hoang Van is very familiar to the people of Quang Binh. Thi Phuong's new MV recreates the time when soldiers and people in Quang Binh fought to protect the homeland and develop Quang Binh into what it is today," he said.

"With her sweet and emotional voice, Thi Phuong expressed all her love and respect for her homeland through the song," Lam said.
