Quintessence of Bac Ninh Culture presented in Hanoi

The event brings Hanoi people and international tourists a glimpse at Bac Ninh Province, a cradle of Dong Ho folk paintings and UNESCO-recognized quan ho (love duets).

THE HANOI TIMES — The program "Quintessence of Bac Ninh Culture - Colors of Dong Ho" will go on from March 29 to March 30 at the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi.

It is an activity to further promote Dong Ho folk painting and nominate the craft of this painting to UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.

It's also an occasion to promote the heritage of quan ho (love duet) - typical traditional folk art forms of Bac Ninh Province, traditional handicrafts, OCOP products, typical Bac Ninh specialties such as banh te Cho (rice cake with minced pork, onions, wood ears filling from Cho Village), banh duc (steamed rice cake with fermented soy sauce), nem Bui (fermented pork from Bui Village), soy sauce from Dinh To Village, peanut candy from Trang Liet Village, and tofu from Tra Lam Village.

This time around, Bac Ninh tourism businesses will be able to network and exchange with their counterparts in Hanoi and all over the country to attract more domestic and foreign tourists to Bac Ninh.

The opening ceremony will be held on March 29 at 8 pm with a performance of love duets. In particular, the art performance will have the participation of singer Hoa Minzy and her trending song Bac Bling. The music production, which highlights the finest cultural features of Bac Ninh Province, had 52 million views after two weeks of release and won Best Popular, Best Move, and Best Debut on the International YouTube Charts.
