Sacred and mysterious Hanoi in lacquer painting

The Turtle Tower, the One Pillar Pagoda, and Vietnamese symbols make an impressive appearance in the lacquer art of painter Chu Nhat Quang.

Unlike other lacquer painting exhibitions, which are usually held indoors, the Sacred Marks exhibition by artist Chu Nhat Quang is set up outdoors and combined with the architecture of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, bringing a special artistic experience to the public. The Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center organizes the event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

The exhibition features 52 traditional lacquer paintings of Hanoi's landscapes and national heritage sites, including Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Turtle Tower, Hanoi Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, One Pillar Pagoda, Thay Pagoda and others.

Committed to lacquer art, painter Chu Nhat Quang said that these are the first steps in a long journey of creation and he hopes that each work will contribute to breathing new life into Vietnamese lacquer art.

The famous painter Thanh Chuong said that Chu Nhat Quang has a talent for painting. His works have a personality and style that combines traditional and contemporary art.

The exhibition kicked off on October 5 and will run until October 15 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi.
