The second Vietnam Conference on Earth and Environmental Sciences (VCEES-2022) has created a multidisciplinary scientific forum where scientists can look into the latest trends and progress in earth and environmental sciences.
The four-day conference started on August 8 and 11 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon city in Vietnam’s south-central coastal province of Binh Dinh.

This year’s conference sees the participation of 20 delegates from foreign countries such as France, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and others.
Issues discussed at the conference included air and land pollution and mitigation solutions, water quality, climate change and its impacts on nature, and the application of earth and environmental sciences in sustainable human development, among others.
The participating scientists and students will look into nearly 100 reports on environment pollution, water treatment, hydro-meteorology and oceanography, aquatic science, remote sensing, plastic pollution, waste management, applied environment, along with regional climate modeling and CORDEX-SEA-related studies.
Moreover, by bringing together scientists from different fields, the annual function will also help to enhance networking and collaboration among diverse participants, thereby promoting research and developmental activities in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
The conference is expected to be held annually, serving as a forum for scientists and researchers to share their views and experiences in earth and environmental sciences.
According to ICISE Deputy Director Tran Thanh Son, the conference was held in an international format with the language of communication being English.
Professor Tran Thanh Van, President of the Scientific Association "Rencontres du Vietnam", who founded ICISE, pointed out that the aim of the organization is to welcome the world's leading scientists to Vietnam to share their scientific knowledge and promote scientific studies among Vietnamese youth.
Van expressed his hope that through the conference, domestic and foreign scientists can find many environmental protection measures for Vietnam and the world at large.
The event is being sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, “Rencontres du Vietnam” Scientific Association, Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF), and Hanoi University of Science & Technology.
