Second Vietnam-RoK cartoon festival kicks off in Hanoi

The Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam with the support of Vietnam Cinema Department and Vietnam Animation Film Studio opened the second Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) cartoon festival in Hanoi on August 13.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, RoK Ambassador Jeon Dae Ju said the event offers a chance for Vietnamese and Korean film producers to share experience in promoting cartoons.

Director of the Hanoi-based Korean Cultural Centre Park Nark Jong said the event seeks to tap Vietnam’s potential for cartoon production and bring Korean culture closer to local audiences.
During the opening ceremony, the organisation board presented awards to winners of the short cartoon contest. The three best films will be assisted and further developed to take part in the Chuncheon international cartoon festival this upcoming September in the RoK.
The four-day festival will also take place other activities including an exhibition, a seminar and film screenings.
