Singaporean conductor to perform in Vietnam

Singaporean conductor Kah Chun Wong will perform at concerts held by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi on the nights of March 20 and 21.

This is the second time Kah Chun Wong performs in Vietnam, after his first appearance at the 2014 Asia-Europe New Music Festival in the country.

In the upcoming concerts, the young talent will conduct the orchestra to play the masterpieces of Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. 
Japanese leading pianist Uehara Ayako is also expected to join the programme. 
Kah Chun Wong was born in 1986 and graduated from Singapore ’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. 
He was invited to stage in major concert events and music festivals around the world and received high prizes in global musical conducting contests, including the first prize at the 5 th International Conducting Competition “Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest” in 2013 and the second prize in the 4 th International Lvro von Matacic Competition for Young Conductors, 
He is also the initiator and director of the Asian Contemporary Ensemble.
