Six Vietnamese movies will be screened at Osaka Asian Film Festival 2016 set to take place between March 4 and 13 in Osaka City, Japan with a focus on Asian films, said the event’s organizers.
The six films are “Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories” by Phan Dang Di, “Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere” by Nguyen Hoang Diep, “The Lady Assassin” and “Super X” by Nguyen Quang Dung, “Sweet 20” by Phan Gia Nhat Linh and the blockbuster “Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” by Victor Vu.
The festival will present 13 films in its competition, nine in its “Special Screenings” section and 25 in sections devoted primarily to recent films from Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The Indie Forum section will be showing 14 films by up-and-coming Asian directors.
The event will open with “Wansei Back Home”, a film by Taiwan director Huang Ming-cheng and conclude with “The Mohican Comes Home” by Okita Shuichi.
